Buses

St. Croix
Bus service between the two main towns, starting at Tide Village east of Christiansted and ending in front of Fort Frederik in Frederiksted, is scheduled at regular intervals from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily except Sunday. Vitran (340-778-0898 or 773-1290) also offers service from the airport to Frederiksted and Christiansted.

St. Thomas

Open-air taxi-buses run hourly from Red Hook to Market Square.
Public buses run every 20 minutes from the terminal to the town from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vitran (340-774-5678) has a fleet of 34-passenger, air-conditioned buses that run from town to the university (passing near Yacht Haven Marina), as well as to Four Winds Plaza and to Red Hook every hour.

Climate

Year-round temperatures range from 70°F to 90°F (21°C to 32°C). The water is an almost constant 80°F (27°C). Rainfall is highest during the month of May and then again from August through November, with 4 to 6 inches falling per month. Winter months are fairly dry, with 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain per month.
